Samsung Galaxy A8s the first A series phone with a punched hole camera! The phone looks absolutely stunning with the all screen design. And as I said in my previous posts this design language is going to be the trend in 2019.
Samsung has packed in some of the most powerful hardware in this phone, so let us get started.
This one sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD panel with the modern aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Pixel Density for the screen is 403ppi. It also supports Always On Display.
Galaxy A8s houses the Snapdragon 710 which is based on the 10nm process. It is an octa-core CPU with two powerful cores clocked at 2.2Ghz while the 6 power efficient cores are clocked at 1.6Ghz. It is a premium mid-range chipset, so don’t worry about performance issues due to Samsung’s UI. On the GPU side of things, we have the Adreno 616 running the show.
RAM, Storage & Battery
It has 128GB of internal storage and supports 6 or 8 Gigs of RAM. Storage is expandable and can be expanded to 512GB via a microSD card. Good to see the microSD card slot even in a premium midrange device.
It has a 3400mAh battery. Yes, I know that it could be better but still, I am pretty sure that it will last you for a full working day. You also may never feel it because it supports fast charging and comes in with a fast charger. It also has a Type C port with micro USB 2.0
It has a triple camera setup with a primary f/1.7 24MP camera with a 5MP f/2.2 depth sensor. It also has a 10MP autofocus camera. For selfies, we have an f/2.0 24MP sensor.
It can record videos @1080p from both the front and the rear camera. It may also support 4k video recording.
It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and also supports the 5.0Ghz Wi-Fi band. Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, FM-Radio are supported.
It has a fingerprint sensor and all the other sensors that you will expect. I know it is hard to believe but it is true! Though it doesn’t support the 3.5mm headphone jack. It has decent quality speakers and has active noise cancellation with dedicated mic.
It comes with Android Pie out of the box which means that it will support Project Treble.
